My Favorite Chinese Tradition
In China, there are many traditions and customs that have been passed down for thousands of years. One of my favorite traditions is the Mid-Autumn Festival. This festival happens in September or October every year when the moon is full and bright.
During this time, families gather together to celebrate. We usually eat mooncakes, which are round cakes that symbolize reunion and completeness. Mooncakes come in different flavors like sweet bean paste, lotus seed paste, and even with egg yolks inside. They are delicious!
Another important part of the Mid-Autumn Festival is admiring the moon. People often go outside to look at the beautiful full moon while eating their mooncakes. It's a very peaceful and happy moment.
I love this tradition because it brings my family closer together. We talk about our lives, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company. It’s not just about the food; it’s about spending quality time with loved ones.
