Good morning, everyone. It's my great honor to stand here and share with you my lesson plan for a 15-minute English class designed for primary school students.
Today’s topic is “My Family.” This lesson is aimed at students in the third grade, who have already learned some basic vocabulary about family members and simple sentence structures. The main goal of this lesson is to help students understand and use the words like father, mother, brother, sister, and grandfather in real-life situations. At the same time, students will be able to describe their own families using simple sentences.
In terms of teaching methods, I will use a combination of visual aids, group activities, and role-playing to make the class more interactive and engaging. First, I will start with a warm-up activity by showing pictures of different family members and asking students to guess their names. Then, I will introduce new vocabulary through flashcards and pronunciation practice. After that, I will lead the students into a listening exercise where they will hear a short dialogue about a family. Finally, I will encourage them to create their own family descriptions and present them in front of the class.
The key points of this lesson include recognizing and pronouncing the words correctly, understanding how to use them in sentences, and practicing speaking skills in a supportive environment. The difficulty lies in helping students form complete sentences and express themselves confidently.
To check students' understanding, I will use both oral questions and a quick writing task where they can write down the names of their family members. This will allow me to assess their progress and provide feedback accordingly.
In summary, this lesson not only focuses on language knowledge but also encourages students to communicate and share their personal experiences. Through fun and meaningful activities, I believe the students will gain confidence in using English to talk about their families.
Thank you for your attention. I look forward to any suggestions or comments you may have.
